Kelly Hastings has been a teacher, assistant principal, principal, curriculum director, and superintendent. She enjoys paper art, embroidery, reading, gardening, and volunteering at WPSU.

Greg Petersen, WPSU board president, had a 45-year career in broadcasting and media concluding with a 28-year stint at WPSU TV-FM, retiring as director of broadcasting in 2017.
Penn State Outreach joins the greater University by focusing on sustainability.
Sydney Forde is originally from St. Albert in Alberta, Canada (a few hours away from Banff in the Rocky Mountains). She is currently completing a Ph.D. in mass communications at Penn State and is the first Penn State student board member for WPSU since the spring of 2022.
Melinda Stearns is originally from Ebensburg, PA, and is a graduate of Penn State. She had a corporate marketing career in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Boston before returning to State College, PA. Melinda has been a board member at WPSU for the past six years.
At the core of Penn State Outreach’s mission is a dedicated effort to positively impact society by engaging diverse audiences through compelling content and evidence-based programs. This mission is deeply entrenched in Penn State’s distinctive role as the sole land-grant institution in Pennsylvania.

WPSU recently hosted Eventapalooza, a fall PBS KIDS family event that offered make-and-take crafts and games for community children. The theme of the event centered around the recognition and celebration of Indigenous people and was held in collaboration with the Indigenous Peoples Student Association (IPSA) and the Indigenous Faculty and Staff Alliance (IFSA) at Penn State.
On October 10, the State College and Penn State communities came together to reflect on and celebrate dignity at PA Dignity Day, the local celebration of Global Dignity Day.
