Penn State Summer Abroad program in DenmarkB A 499 (3 credits) Foreign Study: Business Administration

EGEE 120 (3 credits) Oil: International Evolution

Terrence Guay will teach I B 499. Instructors at Copenhagen Business School will teach B A 499.

Students must choose one course from the list of courses offered at Copenhagen Business School:

  • HA HU 26 Value-Based Leadership
  • HA HU 28 Anatomy of the Sub-Prime Crisis (prerequisite: Econ 302, B A 301, or Fin 100)
  • HA HU 4B Entrepreneurship and Small Business Formation (prerequisite: business background)
  • HA HU 34 Managing Across Cultures
  • HA HU 35 International Business Strategy
  • HA HU 46 History of Energy

All students are required to take I B 499 for 3 credits. If a student selects HA HU 46 from the Copenhagen Business School, they may register for either B A 499 (3 credits) or EGEE 120 (3 credits). All qualify for B A 499 except History of Energy, which can be offered as EGEE 120. All students enroll for 6 credits.

Eligibility

The program is open to all Penn State students and students from other institutions with a minimum 2.75 grade-point average. Applicants are considered on a first-come, first-served basis. Students are encouraged to apply early, as enrollment is limited.

Faculty

Terrence Guay, clinical associate professor of international business, teaches international business courses at the undergraduate and MBA levels in Penn State’s Smeal College of Business. He specializes in the business environment of Europe and is completing his third book on the subject. He has lived and traveled extensively in Europe. He was a Regional Visiting Fellow at Cornell University’s Institute for European Studies; currently he is a regional advisory board member for the European Union Center and the Center for West European Studies at the University of Pittsburgh.
