Traveling Raptor Shows

The Traveling Raptor Shows are for assemblies, classrooms, or outdoor events.

These raptor shows are available in full or mini versions.
A full-length show is sixty to ninety minutes.
A mini-length show is thirty to forty-five minutes.

Three choices of shows:

  1. Birds of Prey (for all ages)
Your group will be introduced to four live, nonreleasable raptors during the program. Hands-on props such as wings and talons will be passed through the group. The presenter will discuss the natural histories and case histories of the raptors as well as some of the challenges facing eagles, falcons, hawks, and owls. There will be time for audience questions throughout the program. A slide show may be included upon request.

  2. Owls Around Us (for all ages)
Your group will be introduced to four live nonreleasable owls during this full-length show (or two owls during the mini-show). You will learn about their nocturnal habits and adaptations. Hands-on props will be passed through the group. Calling of owls may be included.

  3. Endangered Species (for sixth grade and up)
Scientists estimate we are experiencing an extinction rate 10,000 times that of the norm. Each day we lose an estimated 100 species of plants and animals. This program focuses on the alarming facts of extinction and the implications for us all. The show begins with a slide presentation that probes the many questions of why species are in danger and what we can do to change this trend. Rare and threatened live birds and reptiles are featured, and audience participation is encouraged. Animals that are included are the barred owl, timber rattlesnake, box turtle, and/or golden eagle. (Disclaimer: Inclusion of animals for programs depends on their good health.)
