Support Shaver's Creek

In addition to volunteering time, individuals and groups can support Shaver's Creek in a variety of ways.

Individuals, couples, and families may become members of the center. In return, members receive discounts on things such as summer camps, bookstore purchases, and facility rentals. Most importantly, members join because they believe in our mission of establishing harmony with the natural world that supports all life.

People are also welcome to support an individual animal at the center through our Honorary Animal Caretaker Program. Caretakers will receive special information on the animal that they sponsor.

Our annual Birding Cup, a contest to see which team can identify the most bird species in a 24-hour period, is our largest fundraiser. Contributors can make a donation at any level they choose, or they can pledge an amount per each species identified.

Individuals and organizations may donate directly to Shaver's Creek to support any of our programs or the improvement of our facilities. To learn more about giving to Shaver's Creek (in the Penn State Outreach division), go to http://www.giveto.psu.edu/.

Shaver's Creek has several endowments—the Endowment for Shaver's Creek, which supports the center itself, and another that supports our Raptor Center. Contributions to grow these endowments over time are welcome. Individuals are also invited to establish new endowments that will enhance our programming and facilities in support of our mission. For more on establishing an endowment, go to http://www.giveto.psu.edu/.
