An offering of Penn State

Please look for new camp registration instructions for 2010 at this location. We expect to post these instructions during the 2009 camp season.

**************************************************************************

Important Notes

  1. Camp registrations are accepted in the order in which we receive them. This is how we determine the order in which campers fill our available spaces.
  2. Due to the popularity of our camps, there is no guarantee that space will be available, even if you are a member.
  3. You should not register the same camper in more than one way. Please register by only one means.

**************************************************************************

Two Methods for Camp Registration: Paper Forms or Online (for the 2009 season)

Paper Forms
Beginning immediately when you receive your brochure in the mail, registrations will be accepted by mail or by fax at the address or fax number on your brochure (814-863-5175). You may also bring your completed registration form directly to the center. These will be dated and accepted in the order in which they are received. Do not mail a form if you have registered online. Paper forms will not be available until they are mailed to your address. For registration confirmation, please include a current e-mail address (we do not allow your address to be used outside of Shaver’s Creek).

Online Registration
Beginning February 10 at noon, members may register online. Online registrants should receive an immediate registration confirmation. Do not fax, mail, or walk-in a form if you have already registered online.

Nonmember Registration
Nonmembers may register using any method beginning at noon on February 24.

Special Registration Process for Leaders-in-Training
If you are interested in participating in our LIT program, please e-mail Paul Brigman at pgb120@psu.edu to request a volunteer application.

Phone registrations cannot be accepted, because signatures are required for several authorizations and releases. Full payment is required at the time of registration.

Note that registrants will be asked if they are members. If you are a member, you must insert your membership expiration date as "0409" or "0410" (these stand for April 2009 or 2010).  Do this even if your membership expires after 2010.

**************************************************************************

Cancellations
A $25 administrative fee will be charged for all cancellations prior to the day before camp begins. If a camper is forced to leave camp after that time due to injury or illness, a prorated refund of the registration fee (up to 50 percent) will be given.

**************************************************************************

Be Ready to Register

  1. Have your camper's (not the parent’s) Social Security number or Penn State ID number (if you are registering online, you need the Penn State ID number). The Penn State ID number is a nine-digit number that begins with “9.” (If you do not enter an SSN or Penn State ID, a Penn State ID will be assigned.)
  2. To get a Penn State ID number or confirm the number you have, go online to https://fps.psu.edu/.
  3. Have a current membership at Shaver’s Creek, if you wish to register prior to February 24. You may purchase your membership when you register for camp either on the paper form or online. You will need to insert a membership expiration date of either 0409 or 0410 to register. (Note: We strongly encourage families to become members, since the member discount for almost all camps is either equal to or greater than the membership fee).
  4. Family physician’s name and phone number and date of most recent tetanus booster.
