Parents: If you are picking up your son or daughter when camp ends, please make sure that he or she knows where you want to meet and at what time.
Bus Transportation Connections for Fullington Trailways and Greyhound Bus Lines are available to and from State College. For reservations and information, please call 814-238-7971. Camp Shuttle and Taxi Service Transportation between the State College bus terminal and camp residence halls will be provided during the registration hours noted on the enclosed confirmation letter and for two hours after the announced time of camp closing at the end of the week. If you are arriving by bus, please fax, write, or e-mail your arrival time to the Sport Camps office. Air Travel The State College area and the University Park campus are served by the State College/University Park Airport, located five miles from campus. Round-trip commuter flights connect through Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Baltimore/Washington, Detroit, Washington, D.C. (Dulles), and New York. For current flight schedules and airfares, ask your local travel agent to contact US Airways Express, Northwest Airlink, or United Express. Transportation to and from the Airport If you are flying into the State College/University Park Airport on the day camp starts, the Sport Camps office will arrange to pick you up providing that you write, fax, or e-mail and let us know the airline, arrival time, and flight number. We will also arrange for your return to the airport on the day the camp ends. Travel to Penn State From New York City: The suggested route is via the George Washington Bridge to I-80. In Pennsylvania, take I-80 to Exit 161 (Bellefonte) and follow PA Route 26 south to State College. Take Exit 74 for Innovation Park/Penn State University.From the Philadelphia area: From the Philadelphia Schuylkill expressway, follow the Pennsylvania Turnpike to Exit 247 (Harrisburg East). Proceed on I-283 to I-83 and then to the I-81 interchange. Follow I-81 south to Route 322, 22 west exit. Take Route 322 west through Lewistown to State College (Exit 74). From Pittsburgh: Follow US Route 22 to Duncansville, I-99/Route 220 north to Route 322 east to Mt. Nittany Expressway/State College (Exit 73). From the west: Take I-80 to Exit 123 (Woodland) just east of Clearfield, US Route 322 east to State College, or exit I-80 at Exit 161 (Bellefonte) and follow PA Route 220 south to State College. From Washington, D.C.: Several routes are available. Take I-270 to Frederick, I-70 to Breezewood, the PA turnpike (Exit 12) west to Bedford (Exit 11), I-99 north to Route 220, and Route 322 East to State College; or Take I-95 (or the Baltimore-Washington Parkway) to Baltimore, west loop I-695 to I-83 north, I-83 north to the I-81 interchange, I-81 south to Route 322, and Route 322 west to State College. |
