Coaching Staff

Erica WalshErica Walsh begins her second year as head coach of the Penn State soccer program. Coach Walsh joins the program having most recently served as both the head coach of the U.S. Under-17 squad and head coach of the Harvard Crimson women's soccer program. During the 2007 season Coach Walsh captured her first Big Ten title; this was the team’s tenth straight Big Ten title, and at the same time they earned the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament for the second time in three years.

Michael CollMichael Coll begins his fourth year as assistant coach with the Penn State soccer program. No stranger to Penn State, Coach Coll was named a first-team All–Big Ten in 1995 and 1996 and a regional All-American in his senior year while playing for the Penn State men’s team. From 1997 to 2000 he was an assistant coach with the men’s soccer program; he has also served as head coach of the women’s soccer program at Saint Francis University of Pennsylvania.

Ann CookAnn Cook begins her second year as assistant coach with the Penn State soccer program. Coach Cook comes to University Park after serving two seasons as an assistant with the University of Nebraska. She was a fourth-round draft pick (twenty-fifth overall) by the Bay Area CyberRays of the WUSA and also spent time during her professional career as a member of the Washington Freedom. Active with the U.S. National Team programs, she was a member of the U.S. Under-20 team in 1994–95. A three-time All-American, Coach Cook played for the College of William and Mary from 1993 to 1997.

Mariel WilnerMariel Wilner begins her second year as a volunteer assistant coach with the Penn State soccer program. Coach Wilner arrived at Penn State after serving as an assistant coach at Harvard University in the fall of 2006. She split her collegiate career as a goalkeeper between the University of Maryland (2002–03) and Northeastern University (2003–06), where she garnered All–New England honors.
