Dear Players and Parents,

Thank you for your interest in our summer camp program. For many years Penn State has been running one of the most successful summer camp programs in the country, and I can assure you that 2009 will be no exception.

I invite you and your teammates to attend one of our soccer camps this summer. During your days in State College, you will have the opportunity to experience firsthand the growing tradition of Nittany Lion soccer. You will also benefit from one-on-one interaction with our energetic and successful coaching staff. Regardless of which camp you choose, you will leave Penn State a better player. After taking last summer to travel to Beijing and win a gold medal with our U.S. Women’s National Team at the 2008 Olympics, I’m looking forward to being back for all of summer 2009.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call 814-867-2406 or e-mail me at psusoccer@gmail.com. We look forward to working with you this summer, and we’re certain that 2009 will prove to be another highly successful year for the Nittany Lion girls' soccer camps!

Warm regards,
Erica Walsh
Head Coach

The Penn State Soccer Overnight Camp I is designed to help players learn how to enjoy soccer, enhance techniques, and improve skills. Demonstrations and round-robin tournaments feature proper soccer methods and enable participants to practice what they learn. Sessions focus on teamwork, preseason training, and special team tactics and strategies. An additional area of concentration is the development of positional skills and tactical training through functional practices designed to improve positional awareness and understanding. Campers receive a soccer ball and a camp shirt. Goalkeepers receive separate, specialized coaching as well as game analysis from experienced instructors.
