Dear Parents:

Thank you for considering our Penn State Girls' Lacrosse Camp. To those of you who have sent a child to one of our past camps, thank you for your continued loyalty; rest assured that your child’s 2009 camp experience will be every bit as rewarding. Those considering sending a child for the first time should know that the camper’s safety and welfare are our top priority and that your child will receive professional instruction from a team of outstanding coaches. Again, thank you for considering Penn State for your child’s Girls' Lacrosse Camp experience. We look forward to seeing you this summer.

Warm regards,
Suzanne Isidor
Head Coach

The Penn State Girls’ Lacrosse White Camp is designed for students entering grades seven through twelve next fall.

About the Camps

The Penn State Girls’ Lacrosse Blue Camp and White Camp will include stick-work practices, games, and solid instruction that will focus on offensive and defensive strategies to help the players further refine their skills. Individual-help sessions and extra scrimmages under the lights will also be held.

The Penn State Girls' Lacrosse Blue Camp and White Camp also includes sessions on academic counseling for athletes, sport nutrition, sport psychology, strength training, and conditioning. Head Coach Suzanne Isidor will discuss NCAA rules for recruiting student athletes and will answer commonly asked questions about the recruiting process.

In the Penn State Girls’ Lacrosse Day Camp the Penn State coaching staff will focus their instruction on fundamentals of the game, emphasizing basic skills, techniques, and concepts. This camp will be three fun-filled days of instruction, games, contests, and more! Campers receive a camp shirt. The day camp runs from 9:00 a.m.–noon.

Blue Camp—Penn State’s Girl’s Lacrosse Blue Camp is open to all students in grades nine through twelve. This camp is specifically designed to improve the skills and techniques of more advanced players.

Physical Conditioning—To benefit as much as possible from this camp, participants should arrive in top physical condition. Particular attention should be paid to the feet. To avoid blisters, do not bring new cleats to camp. Jogging and sprinting before the camp starts is encouraged.

Staff—The Penn State Girls' Lacrosse White Camp guarantees a 1:10 ratio of coaches to players and includes top U.S. team members and Penn State varsity starters as staff members. The Blue Camp has a 1:5 ratio of coaches to players.

Goalkeepers—Specialized goalkeeping instruction is provided during each of the two camp sessions.

Equipment—Campers should bring their own lacrosse sticks and goalie pads. Mouth guards and goggles are required.

Recreation—During camp, participants may spend their free time enjoying Penn State's many recreational facilities, including the outdoor swimming pool and tennis and racquetball courts.
