Dear Camper:
Thank you for your interest in Penn State Sport Camps. Carefully read everything included in this Web site, including the policies for Penn State Sport Camps, information on bus transportation, and the list of clothing and equipment needed. (Please also make sure to read the refund policy section, in case you must cancel your enrollment or leave camp early.) Questions about the camp should be directed to the Penn State Sport Camps office. At final registration, you will receive:
Housing If you indicated a roommate preference on your registration form, the University Assignment Office will do its best to honor that request. Please note that your roommate request does not enroll the roommate in the camphe or she must fill out an application, which is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. If you indicated no preference, a roommate will be assigned to you. Campers are responsible for their own property, so we suggest that you lock your room and keep your key with you at all times. If you lose your key, report the loss to your counselor or camp director immediately so that a replacement key can be issued. We urge you not to bring valuables to camp. The University is not responsible for lost or stolen articles. Penn State will provide sheets, bed pads, and bedspreads; however, campers must bring their own pillows and pillowcases. Campers are expected to use University facilities properly. Rooms, hallways, and lobbies should be kept clean and orderly. Fire extinguishers should not be misused, and doorways and/or exits should be free of obstructions. Residence halls are not air-conditioned. A small refrigerator and microwave are available in each room, and laundry facilities are available. Pay telephones are located in the commons area; long-distance calls may be made until 10:30 p.m. Except for individuals scheduled for weekend camp activities, participants attending camps on consecutive weeks may not stay in University residence halls over the weekend. If this situation affects you, contact the Sport Camps office. When you check out of your residence hall, please make sure you have all of your personal belongings. The University is not responsible for belongings left behind. Dining Halls All meals will be served in University dining halls. Shirts and shoes must be worn in the dining halls. Campers may eat as much as they want but should not waste food or remove it from the dining areas. Campers are expected to be courteous to dining hall personnel. Parking Camp participants are prohibited to drive during the duration of the sport camp, so campers should not bring vehicles with them. If there are special circumstances, however, parking spaces will be assigned to individuals who may need to drive. Campers who receive special permission to drive must park their cars in assigned spaces, lock their vehicles, and leave their keys with the camp director. There is no fee for parking on campus; however, campers must get a parking permit at final registration and display it from their cars rearview mirror. Failure to obtain a parking permit will result in a parking ticket. Clothing and Equipment You will receive a letter indicating the specific equipment needed for your camp. Bring summer clothing suitable for hot weather as well as for cool days and evenings. Rainwear is recommended. The following is a list of suggested items to bring with you:
