About the Camps
Youth Camp: June 14–15
The Youth Camp is designed for young wrestlers, ages 6–10, of all experience levels, who want to master the fundamental techniques essential to building the foundation for a successful wrestling career. Drill sessions will incorporate skills on the feet, top, and bottom positions. In order to maximize the learning experience, campers will be divided into small individualized groups. They will be supervised at all times by the Penn State wrestling staff and will receive additional instruction on nutrition, conditioning, and goal setting. Campers will spend their free time interacting in supervised games and activities organized by Coach Sunderland and his staff.

Technique Camp: June 14–17, June 21–24, or June 24–27
The Technique Camp will concentrate on instruction and drilling for beginning to advanced wrestlers in grades 6–12. It will cover techniques and drills from the feet, top, and bottom positions. Wrestlers will also receive information on conditioning, weight lifting, nutrition, and goal setting.

Takedown Camp: June 14–17, June 21–24, or June 24–27
The Takedown Camp is designed to build confidence in wrestlers, grades 6–12, who want to become dominant on their feet. Instruction includes hand fighting, multiple set-ups, counters, strategy, and an array of high-percentage scoring techniques. Wrestlers will have the opportunity to become better by incorporating Penn State's aggressive style of constantly attacking, reattacking, and mentally breaking their opponents with superior techniques and conditioning. An individual takedown tournament will conclude the camp week.

Top/Pinning Camp: June 14–17, June 21–24, or June 24–27
The Top/Pinning Camp is designed for wrestlers, grades 6–12, looking to dominate their opponents on the mat. The camp will explore the most effective ways to ride, turn, and pin or technical fall a good opponent. Emphasis will be placed on leg riding, controlling wrists, arm bars, tilts, breakdowns, cradles, and winning 30-second rideouts. If wrestlers are already good riders and pinners, this camp can give them an even greater variety of moves to turn their opponents. If wrestlers have been unsuccessful at pinning or riding, this camp can provide them with the basic skills and specialized techniques they need to begin dominating from the top position.

Intensive Training Camp: June 21–27
The Intensive Training Camp is designed for experienced, dedicated wrestlers, grades 6–12, who want an intense program combining technique instruction, drill sessions, running, strength training, and high-level competition. The camp is ideal for wrestlers who want to expand the limits of their mental, physical, and emotional toughness. This camp can be TOUGH; however, it can provide them with the mental and physical conditioning you need to be champions in the upcoming season.

Team Camp: July 10–13
The Team Camp will give wrestlers, grades 7–12, a balance of intense competition and outstanding instruction during each session. An individual takedown tournament will conclude the camp week.

Recreation—During camp, participants can spend their free time enjoying Penn State's many recreational facilities, including the outdoor swimming pool.
