Camp II
July 18–21, 2010
We are pleased to announce that registrations are now being accepted for Penn State’s premier softball camp. To those who have sent a young lady to one of our past camps, thank you for your continued loyalty; rest assured that your child’s 2010 camp experience will be every bit as rewarding. Those considering sending a child for the first time should know that our top priority is your child's safety and welfare and that she will receive professional instruction from a team of outstanding coaches.
For your information, we will begin construction on our new state-of-the-art softball complex in Spring 2010. This construction will require us to conduct sessions at the State College Area High School’s softball fields. University buses operated by our licensed University bus drivers will provide transportation of our campers and coaches to and from these fields. Many sessions will continue to be held on campus. All other aspects remain the same: twenty-four-hour supervision, medical personnel assigned as part of the camp staff, and instruction from an outstanding coaching staff. Campers and coaches will also once again stay in the East Residence Hall area and eat in the East Residence Hall dining facility. The bottom line is that you will have the full camp experience that has become our trademark; then you can look forward to your 2011 softball camp experience in our new softball complex.
We look forward to seeing you this summer.Warm regards,
Robin Petrini
Head Coach
Who Should Attend
The Penn State Girls' Softball Camp is designed for students entering grades seven through twelve next fall. Recent high school graduates not currently enrolled in college are also eligible to attend.
About the Camp
Penn State Girls' Softball Camp is designed to give participants the chance to play in games, improve their batting and fielding skills, and learn about softball strategies. Lectures, demonstrations, and drill sessions are held daily, and campers receive individual attention and encouragement. They also get to use the University's indoor and outdoor facilities, including practice fields and training rooms.
Equipment — Campers should bring their own softball gloves and bats. In addition, catchers must supply their own shin guards, chest protectors, and masks.
Recreation — During camp, participants can spend their free time enjoying Penn State's many recreational facilities, including the outdoor swimming pool.
