Who Should Attend
The Penn State Instructional Golf Camps are designed for boys and girls entering grades five through twelve next fall. High school graduates are eligible to enroll.
About the Camps
The Penn State Instructional Golf Camps are designed to accommodate golfers of different ages and skill levels. Campers will be placed into separate groups based on age and experience. Each group will have two instructors assigned with no more than twelve campers per group.
Instruction in golf techniques helps players develop their skills under the guidance of an outstanding coaching staff. The program is tailored to individual abilities and needs. Emphasis is placed on teaching a golf swing that will work best for each camper. Specific swing drills are designed to improve the golfer's flexibility and strength.
A major goal of the camp is to help players transfer their improved swings to the golf course and play an improved game. Presentations of specific course management skills and proper practice habits are designed to enhance the performance of the players. The total camp experience provides campers with a learning environment suitable for all skill levels. Lectures, demonstrations, drill sessions, and playing time are offered daily. In the event of inclement weather, lectures, videos, and other activities will be moved indoors.

The Penn State Competitive Players Camps are special camps geared toward the competitive player entering grades eight through twelve who plays to a 15 or under handicap. During the week, eighteen holes of golf will be played each day. Instruction will include course management, strategies, self-management skill for optimal performance, short game mastery, and full swing mastery. Lectures, demonstrations, and application will focus on the skills players need to take their game to the collegiate level.
For all camps, a closing ceremony will be held on the final day of camp at approximately 11:00 a.m. This ceremony will be held at the Penn State golf facility, and all are welcome to attend. Prizes for the week and camp certificates will be awarded. Campers may be picked up at the golf course or campus, following checkout at noon.
Supervision is provided by camp staff during the entire stay; counselors are assigned to each dormitory.
