One out of four meteorologists in the United States attended Penn State. No wonder, then, that when many people think of weather, they think of Penn State!

The program is taught by Penn State meteorology faculty and graduate-student mentors who are actively involved in cutting-edge research in the Department of Meteorology.

Jeff Warner is a lecturer in mathematics, chemistry, and physics for the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences. Jeff's collegiate degrees are in meteorology and his career began as a meteorologist with the Weather Communications Group at Penn State, where he regularly forecasted for several locations around the country. Jeff still forecasts on Weather World and remains extremely interested in mesoscale processes, which are relatively small-scale events like lake-effect snow and severe thunderstorms.

Bill Syrett manages the Department of Meteorology's Joel N. Myers Weather Center and teaches several meteorology courses. He has been at Penn State for more than twenty years, both as an employee and as a student. Bill has been a "storm lover" since the age of five and never ceases to be amazed at the power of nature.
