Penn States Wastewater Biology Courses are designed for

  • Operators and technicians of wastewater treatment plants, conveyance (sewer) systems, and sludge dewatering and disposal facilities
  • Industrial and occupational health and safety personnel
  • Managers and supervisors of food, beverage, textile, pharmaceutical, chemical, and pulp and paper plants

Course Descriptions

Penn States Wastewater Biology courses stress a biological approach to wastewater operations and are designed for operators, technicians, and engineers involved in the daily operation and troubleshooting of wastewater treatment processes.

A formal background in biology, chemistry, or engineering is not required. The courses are not sequential; there are no prerequisites.
