Course Objective
The 2013 Short Course in Underwater Acoustics and Signal Processing will be held October 7 through 11 at The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel, State College, Pennsylvania. To receive email notification when registration opens for the 2013 short course, send an email with "2013 Short Course" in the subject line to JLF30@psu.edu. Registration is expected to open during summer 2013.
This short course provides a broad but comprehensive introduction to many important topics in underwater acoustics and signal processing. The goal is to give participants a practical understanding of fundamental concepts, along with an appreciation of current research and development activities. It serves as a foundation for more advanced study of current literature or for other specialized courses. This short course is designed for scientists and engineers who want an introduction to, or a review of, topics in underwater acoustics and signal processing.
Program Schedule
To accommodate the broad range of participants' interests, the course offers concurrent sessions for two of the five days. Participants may attend any sessions and will receive notes for all sessions. This schedule is subject to change. Course attire will be casual.
Continuing Education Units
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are based on a standard of 1 unit per 10 hours of classroom instruction. You will receive up to 36 hours for attending the entire course. Upon completion of this program, each participant will be awarded a certificate for the CEUs earned.
Instructional Materials
Each enrollee receives a three-ring notebook and a CD containing course content.
