There are two options to enroll in the ESL Certificate Program with Immersion, either on a credit or on a noncredit basis. In both cases, the Pennsylvania ESL Program Specialist
certificate is awarded, given successful completion of the program and teaching certification as outlined by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. In addition to the instructional
fees, there is a program abroad fee of $1,695 (early application by September 15 qualifies you for a $100 discount) related to your stay in Ecuador. The total fee includes
instructional costs and all expenses during the four weeks in Ecuador including living expenses, transportation in Ecuador, and a four-day orientation in Quito before classes begin.
Airfare to and from Ecuador, lodging for weekend courses at Penn State, and books for the courses are not included. Applications postmarked after the September 15
