How to Apply
To apply: Submit the application form, your personal statement, transcripts, two letters of recommendation, and a photocopy of your Pennsylvania Instructional Certificate(s) to the address below.

Deadline: The early application discount ends September 15, 2009. All applications must be received by October 30, 2009.
Acceptance: During November, Penn State will review and select applicants. You will be notified in late November by a letter of acceptance and will receive additional information about courses in the spring session and travel to Ecuador in the summer. Upon acceptance or by December 15, you will be charged a $1,000 nonrefundable deposit. The deposit will be credited to the program abroad fee portion of the program fees, explained below.
Requirements: Certified teachers should have a valid Instructional I or II teaching certificate from Pennsylvania in order to earn the add-on ESL Program Specialist to their teaching credentials. Upon successful completion of program courses, you should request that Penn State complete a letter of verification so that you can apply to the Pennsylvania Department of Education for the ESL Program Specialist endorsement.
