Objectives

Following the conference, participants should be able to:

  • describe three different technologies that youth are currently using for sexual learning and explain how these technologies work
  • describe three advantages and three risks involved with the use of these technologies for sexual learning and interpersonal interaction
  • identify at least five different e-resources that could be used to supplement their work with youth
  • provide at least two concrete ideas for integrating technology into the sexuality education that they provide to youth
  • list three advantages of using science-based approaches to sexuality education and teen pregnancy prevention
  • name three characteristics of effective teen pregnancy prevention programs
  • incorporate new information, resources, skills, and educational approaches into their work with adolescents
  • discuss techniques for effectively advocating policies that promote adolescent sexual health
  • name three programs that have been found to be effective in reducing risky sexual behavior among adolescents
