Thomas Arbogast is counsel at Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP. He has a bachelor's degree from West Virginia University and a juris doctor degree from Duquesne University. Arbogast is a Fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel; past chair of the Penn State Tax Conference; and past chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Tax Section. An adjunct professor at Duquesne University School of Law from 1972 to 1988, he has been an adjunct professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law since 1990. Arbogast is a member of the American Bar Association's Tax Section Administrative Practice Committee.

Todd Izzo

Todd Izzo is a partner in Deloitte's Pittsburgh International Tax practice and also the Global Tax Consumer Business Leader for the entire firm. Through these roles, he services large multinational corporations worldwide—mostly in Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. Izzo specializes in international taxation, with a focus on global tax optimization, financial products and instruments, international mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, tax treaties, foreign tax credit planning and other areas of U.S. corporate and international taxation. Prior to joining Deloitte & Touche in 2000, he worked in the area of international and corporate tax for five years in the Washington, D.C., office of Dewey Ballantine and served as a law clerk for one year in the chambers of Judge Ed Becker of the U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Izzo received a bachelor's degree with highest distinction in accounting from Penn State; a juris doctor degree summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, and a master of laws degree in taxation summa cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center. He was awarded the May 1991 Alexander E. Loeb Gold Medal award for the high score in Pennsylvania on the CPA exam, and the Elijah Watt Sells Award for one of the top scores in the United States.

Kathy Mandelbaum

Kathy Mandelbaum, the director of Temple University Beasley School of Law's graduate tax program, came from private practice, where she has been a member of Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis' estates department since 1983. An adjunct member of the faculty since 1995, she joined the full-time faculty to meet the expanding interest in tax law. As director of the graduate tax program, she oversees students seeking degrees through the LL.M. in taxation, as well as the J.D./LL.M. in taxation, the estate planning certificate program, and the newly introduced certificate in employee benefits. In addition to heading that program, Mandelbaum teaches courses in estate and gift taxation, and the law of nonprofit organizations. She has been active in her chosen area of law—estates—since graduating from law school. She has lectured frequently on estate planning and charitable giving topics for a variety of organizations including the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the Philadelphia Bar Association, the YWCAs of America, the National Society of Fund Raising Executives, the Alzheimer's Association, and the Health Ed Network. Active in civic activities, Mandelbaum was recently reelected to the board of directors of the Greater Philadelphia chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, and has authored numerous articles on planning topics for the chapter's publications. She has also served as a member of the executive board of the Harvard-Radcliffe Club of Philadelphia.

Dan A. Schulder

Dan A. Schulder joined the firm of Cozen O'Connor in April 2009 as a member in the business law department. Formerly, he was a partner with Wolf Block LLP in Harrisburg. A member in the Tax and Real Estate Practice Groups, Schulder concentrates in the areas of taxation, mergers and acquisitions, business finance, general corporate planning, real estate and zoning law. His practice primarily involves all aspects of federal, state, and local taxation, structuring business organization, merger, acquisition, disposition, recapitalization and reorganization transactions, developing debt and equity financing strategies, providing business planning and corporate formation counseling, and all aspects of acquiring, developing, financing, leasing, and zoning of commercial and residential real estate. Schulder served as in-house general counsel to a major real estate developer, responsible for all phases of financing and development of residential and commercial real estate. His work in the fields of taxation and corporate planning has appeared in numerous publications. He co-authored Tax Portfolio 2300 titled Pennsylvania Corporate Taxes, which is part of Tax Management's Multistate Tax Portfolio Series.
