Dear Parents,
Thank you for your years of loyalty to our Field Hockey Camps. As a token of appreciation for your continuing support, you'll notice that we have kept our 2008 camp fees the same as last year. We have also added medical insurance for our campers; the details are in the brochure and on this Web site. Again, thanks for choosing Penn State for your field hockey player’s experience, and we look forward to seeing you this summer.

About the Camps
Girls' Elite Field Hockey
Penn State's Girls' Elite Field Hockey Camp is designed for the best high school players. To allow for the highest level of individual instruction, camp enrollment is limited and each applicant must be a varsity letter winner.
Top collegiate coaches and players will provide special sessions on academic athletic counseling, strength training, nutrition, conditioning, and sport psychology. All playing venues are artificial turf fields.
Girls' All-Star Field Hockey
The daily schedule for Penn State's Girls' All-Star Field Hockey Camp includes games, stickwork practices, and tactical sessions for offensive and defensive strategies. Individual help sessions and goalkeeping practices also are held. Throughout the camp's instructional programs—held at outdoor facilities—the campers receive supervision, encouragement, and instruction.
Because individual instruction is emphasized, campers are grouped according to age, ability, experience, maturity, and competitive spirit. Each camper plays an equal amount of time in games, and staff members are available to give individual attention. Campers and/or teams from the same school may attend this camp and will practice together throughout the week if their high school coach prefers that arrangement.
Girls' Field Hockey Team Camp
Penn State's Girls’ Field Hockey Team Camp covers all aspects of the game, including position development and game strategies. Evenings consist of game competitions and video analysis. Teams must send no fewer than fourteen players and no more than eighteen players to the camp. A team will not be officially accepted until fourteen players are registered.
Physical Conditioning—To benefit as much as possible from this camp, participants should arrive in top physical condition. Particular attention should be paid to the feet. To avoid blisters, do not bring new cleats to camp. Jogging and sprinting are encouraged before the camp starts.
Equipment—Campers should bring their own hockey sticks, goalie pads, and kickers. Mouth and shin guards are required. Cross trainers or turf shoes are recommended. Goalies must bring their own equipment.
Recreation—During camp, participants may spend their free time enjoying Penn State's many recreational facilities, including the outdoor swimming pool.
