Access Accounts

The first thing you need to do after registering for your Penn State Continuing Education course is get your student ID card.

Once you have your ID card, you can obtain your required Penn State computer Access Account (userID@psu.edu) by visiting one of the Access Account signature stations at University Park.

With your account, you will be able to access:

Penn State will also use your account to communicate with you about financial aid, registration, changes in course schedules, and other important student-related issues--so it's important to check this account frequently. Click here to learn how to forward your Penn State e-mail to a non-Penn State e-mail account.

The easiest way to check your Penn State e-mail is to sign in to Penn State WebMail, using your Penn State userID and password.

For more information, contact Penn State's Information Technology Services (ITS) Accounts Services Office (101 Computer Building) at 814-865-4772 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, or by e-mail.

Forwarding Your Penn State E-mail

If you already use a non-Penn State e-mail account (e.g., AOL, Hotmail, Yahoo!), you can have your Penn State e-mail forwarded to that e-mail account. This is easy to set up and will prevent you from having to check two accounts.

1. Go to https://www.work.psu.edu/.
2. In the right column, under "Directory Services," click on the link titled "Change your e-mail forwarding address."
3. Enter your Penn State userID and password.
4. A screen will then appear with a "Forwarding Address" box, where you will type the e-mail address to which you want your Penn State e-mail forwarded.
5. Click the "Change" button.

For help in forwarding your e-mail, contact the Outreach technical support HelpDesk: 800-252-3592 (press menu option 4) or 814-865-0047.
