Think spring! Winter has gone on long enough. It’s midsemester and time to dig in and wrap this semester up on a good note as well as to make plans to schedule your summer courses. The next few months are always busy, so let me highlight a few happenings of interest to adult learners:
- Summer catalogs are now available, and many of you should have received a copy in the mail. If you haven’t received a copy, please call our office at 800-228-1627; we’ll gladly
mail one to you. Lewistown and Williamsport students can obtain copies at their respective locations.

- Continuing Education will recognize our spring graduates at the Saturday, May 16, World Campus and Continuing Education Graduation Reception in the Outreach Building Lobby, noon–2:00 p.m. Invitations will be sent to all CE graduates—family and friends are invited to join you to celebrate this milestone.
- June 1 is the application deadline for Continuing Education scholarships, including the Fischer Family Scholarship and the FACES Fund. Be sure to review the eligibility criteria and plan to apply if you qualify! Remember: you must have a 2009–10 FAFSA on file for consideration.
- The second annual Central Pennsylvania Regional Career Fair is set for Wednesday, April 22, at The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel at Innovation Park at Penn State, 2:00–5:00 p.m. All adult learners should plan to attend this event—meet local employers, learn what experience and education is needed for available positions, share your résumé, and network with others.
The Continuing Education student services team strives to provide high-quality customer service to our students from the first point of contact, via phone or in person. We offer help with course scheduling and registration, top-notch academic advising and career services, and overall support of students enrolled in Continuing Education courses and programs in Lewistown, Moshannon Valley, State College, and Williamsport. The student services team consists of Betsy Esposito, advising services coordinator; Dana Aina, academic adviser; Liz Lasher, career counselor; and Michelle Snedeker, staff assistant.
Our offices are located in 121 Outreach Building in Innovation Park on the University Park campus, near The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel. Our office number is 814-865-3443 or, toll-free, 800-252-3592. Staff members are available to take your calls Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
