I’m not sure where the summer months have gone, but I do know that the start of the fall semester is soon upon us. There is plenty of news to share in this second issue of our newsletter.
- Dr. Jeff Hand began his duties as the new director of Continuing Education at University Park on July 1. Jeff comes to Penn State from Post University in Connecticut and brings new ideas, enthusiasm, and a solid understanding of adult learners to our work.
- In the fall semester Penn State Continuing Education will begin offering courses in Philipsburg, at the Philipsburg-Osceola High School. Visit our Web site for the course schedule.
- A Blue and White BBQ is the theme for our fall semester’s new-student orientation programs in Lewistown (Monday, August 18) and University Park (Wednesday, August 20).
The Continuing Education student services team strives to provide high-quality customer service to our students from the first point of contact, via phone or in person: help with course scheduling and registration, top-notch academic advising and career services, and overall support of students enrolled in Continuing Education courses and programs in Bellefonte, Lewistown, Philipsburg, State College, and Williamsport.
The student services team consists of Betsy Esposito, advising services coordinator; Dana Aina, academic adviser; Liz Lasher, career counselor; and Michelle Snedeker, staff assistant. Our offices are located in 121 Outreach Building in Innovation Park on the University Park campus, near The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel. Our office number is 814-865-3443 or, toll-free, 800-252-3592. Staff members are available to take your calls Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
