The postbaccalaureate premedical certificate program is a nondegree program designed for a select group of academically talented, highly motivated college graduates who do not have a science background. In just fifteen to twenty-four months, students can complete the science course work required to apply for admission to medical, dental, optometry, veterinary science, podiatry, physical therapy, physician assistant, and other allied health schools. The program is flexible in terms of scheduling courses, and students who need to work may enroll part-time.
Penn State has a long-standing tradition of cooperative arrangements with some of the best medical and dental schools in Pennsylvania and the United States. We rank among the top twenty schools in the country in the number of students admitted to medical schools annually. The courses you take at Penn State provide excellent preparation for the health care professions.
