M.Ed. in Instructional Systems, Educational Technology Option

This master's degree program offered by Penn State's College of Education is designed for educators who have an interest in designing, implementing, and evaluating the impact of technology-based learning experiences.

Build on Postbaccalaureate Certificate Credits

Students who have taken courses in Penn State's TICKET or educational technology integration certificate program can apply ED TECH/INSYS 446 and ED TECH/INSYS 448 toward the master's degree; two additional courses from either certificate program can be used as electives in the master's program.

Take Courses Locally and Online

The courses in this program can be taken locally through Penn State Continuing Education at University Park and Williamsport, and online through Penn State World Campus.

Admission Requirement

If you are applying for a graduate course and have never enrolled as a graduate student, you need to fill out the "Graduate Nondegree Application" form. If you are a current graduate student who has taken a semester off (excluding the summer), you need to fill out the "Resume Study" form. Call the Williamsport office for a form, or download the PDF online at http://forms.gradsch.psu.edu/.

The Value of a Penn State Education

An investment in an advanced degree is well worth the return. A 2004 College Board research report found that those with advanced degrees earn two to three times as much as high school graduates.
