Testimonials

"All of the instructors were top notch. It was easy to tell that they had a wealth of experience and knowledge to share and were happy to do so."

Camp Activities

In the morning and afternoon, you'll take part in full-ensemble rehearsals, a wide variety of academic classes, and master classes. Pianists will receive multiple individual lessons during the week and are assigned individual practice times, with practice assistance available throughout the day. Private lessons may be available for your instrument or voice for an additional fee on a first-come, first-served basis. Students may sign up for one or two lessons that take place during the activity time. Sign-up information will be made available after your registration has been processed.

During each day, you'll have the opportunity to receive instruction in ear training, music theory, and music appreciation. A college-age counselor will plan daily recreation such as athletics, crafts, and social activities. In the evening, you'll enjoy solo and ensemble performances by other campers and concerts by camp staff and guest artists. All of these activities will be supervised by our camp staff, who will have passed background clearance checks.

You'll complete your week at camp on Saturday, July 21, when you and the other campers will present public performances in various concert venues on the Penn State campus.

Honors Recital
The Honors Recital is a showcase for outstanding performers of all camp areas. Students are selected by audition on the first day of camp (see FAQ for audition requirements). Those selected will receive a performance opportunity during an evening recital at the end of the week.
