Visa Information

International participants arriving from outside the United States with machine-readable passports from among the twenty-seven countries in the Visa Waiver Program may be able to travel without a visa. Participants from other countries will need a B-1 (business) visa or B-2 (tourist) visa.

Note: Obtaining a U.S. visa may require a visit to a U.S. consulate or embassy, payment of a fee, and significant wait time. Please contact the local U.S. consulate or embassy for up-to-date information.

Letter of invitation: Persons requiring an official letter of invitation in order to attend the Microbial Fuel Cells Symposium should write to Carolyn Andersen at ConferenceInfo1@outreach.psu.edu. This letter may be needed to obtain a visa or permission to attend the symposium. Please include your name, professional title, business address, phone number, e-mail address, and fax number. The letter will be provided by e-mail.
