Social Events
A social event is planned for every evening of the conference. These socials are a great way to have fun while meeting other students attending the conference.
Thursday night will be a relaxing meet-and-greet event held at The Penn Stater with appetizers, refreshments, and great music. The event will begin after opening ceremonies and will
be your first chance to meet other students and professionals.
Friday night is a more active night with a “sports theme” social inspired by Penn State’s tailgating and sports enthusiasm. Wear your favorite sports shirt or jersey and be ready to
play games, dance, and interact. This event will be held at the Days Inn Penn State in downtown State College until
midnight, followed by free time to tour Happy Valley (bus transportation provided)! We greatly appreciate the outstanding support of landscapeforms® for sponsoring the Friday night social.
The final social, Saturday night, will take place at The Penn Stater following closing ceremonies. The dress is business casual. This social is the last night at LABASH, so dance all
night, socialize, and have a great time!
Bus Transportation Downtown (Thursday/Friday Evenings)
Round-trip bus transportation will be provided on Thursday evening, 9:00 p.m.–2:00 a.m. from The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel (hotel lobby exits) to downtown State College and return trip to The Penn Stater. The Penn State bus will have stops downtown at the following two locations: Intersection of Heister Street and College Avenue; Intersection of Allen Street and College Avenue.
Round-trip bus transportation, 5:00 p.m.–2:00 a.m., will be provided for the Friday night social at Days Inn Penn State. Penn State buses will depart on a regular basis from The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel (hotel lobby exits) to Days Inn/downtown State College and return trip to The Penn Stater. Buses will have stops at the following three downtown locations: Intersection of Heister Street and College Avenue; Intersection of Allen Street and College Avenue; Days Inn Penn State hotel on Pugh Street.
