Travel Awards
ISB and ISCH Travel Awards
The International Society of Biorheology (ISB) and the International Society for Clinical Hemorheology (ISCH) are both pleased to offer travel awards for attending the 2008 ISB+ISCH
joint meeting at Penn State. These awards are supported, in part, by the Copley-Oka Fund. They are intended to support investigators, especially graduate students and
postdoctoral fellows, whose usual sources of travel funding are limited. The goal of the awards is to maximize broad-based participation and to promote scientific
interchange.
Details and application procedures are listed below:
1. The awards consist of reimbursement (up to $750) toward documented travel and lodging expenses plus a waiver of the meeting registration fee.
2. Applicants should provide:
a. a cover letter including an estimate of anticipated expenses
b. the applicant's curriculum vitae
c. a copy of the abstract of the presentation, as submitted on the Web site, that the applicant wishes to present at the meeting
d. a two-page extended abstract of the presentation
3. Conditions of the award are that the abstract must be accepted by the program committee and that the presentation must be given by the applicant at the meeting.
4. Based upon the content of the abstract, completed travel award applications should be sent to either:
-ISB, Dr. Mike Lawrence, mbl2a@virginia.edu, or
-ISCH, Dr. Max Hardeman, mrhardeman@hotmail.com
5. Deadline for receipt of all application items is May 1, 2008.
NOTE: As a special benefit to all graduate students and postdoctoral fellows who apply, annual dues for either ISB or ISCH will be awarded for one year. These applicants must be either society members or submit a completed ISB or ISCH membership application with their Travel Award material. Application forms can be obtained at: http://www.coe.ou/isb (for ISB) and http://www.hemorheology.org/ (for ISCH).
