Following last
year's enormously successful inaugural statewide conference, Pennsylvania's Office of Public Safety Radio Services (OPRS) is proud to partner again with Penn State to present a full-day
forum for discussion and promotion of interoperable public safety communications in Pennsylvania. PA Interop II is the second annual Pennsylvania Statewide
Interoperability Conference.
PA Interop II
Wednesday, June 4, 2008
This year's event focuses on the direction presented in the Statewide Communications Interoperability Plan (SCIP) and Investment Justification (IJ) portfolio for the Public
Safety Interoperable Communications (PSIC) Grant Program. The SCIP and IJ portfolio build on the role of PA-STARNet as the backbone for interoperable public safety communications
across the Commonwealth.
The conference also features an update on PA-STARNet development and buildout, and interactive breakout sessions on a variety of topics sure to be of interest to the attendees.
Key Conference Objectives
- Understanding of PA-STARNet's capabilities, status of development, role in achieving interoperable communications, and options for connecting
- Continued realization of a common vision of interoperable communications in Pennsylvania
- Understanding of the direction presented in Pennsylvania's SCIP and awareness of interoperability initiatives resulting from the PSIC Grant Program
- Continued clarification of county and local interoperability requirements and of the role of the Commonwealth government in achieving interoperable public safety communications
Who Should Attend
The conference participants are county and municipal public safety communications managers and Commonwealth officials and agency representatives, along with technology suppliers,
federal officials, and PA-STARNet business partners.
The participation of all key stakeholders is vital to the success of this exciting conference. Be sure to reserve the date!
Because space is limited, OPRS requests that each county limit its participation to no more than three attendees. OPRS reserves the right to move anyone registering for the conference to a waiting list. See the Registration page for a more detailed explanation of registration and attendance.
