Instructors
Arthur C. Miller is a nationally recognized expert in hydrology, hydraulic engineering, and dam safety. He is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Penn State and project manager and technical adviser to Watershed Concepts|AECOM.
Miller, a fellow of ASCE and diplomat of the American Academy of Water Resource Engineers, received the Association of Dam Safety Officials' Northeast Regional Award of Merit for Dam Safety in 2002; in 2007 he was awarded the ASDSO Hampton Medal for outstanding contributions to research and practice in hydrologic and hydraulic engineering for dams. In 2006 he received the Certificate of Appreciation for Patriotic Civilian Service from the Department of the Army in recognition for service and outstanding achievement while he served on the Interagency Performance Evaluation Task Force consequences team in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
Gary Brunner, HEC-RAS program author, is a senior hydraulic engineer at the Hydrologic Engineering Center in Davis, California. He has developed teaching materials and taught numerous courses on hydrology and hydraulics using HEC software.
Dennis Johnson, assistant provost and associate professor of environmental science at Juniata College, has taught a variety of courses in the areas of hydrology, hydrodynamics and hydraulic modeling, GIS, and information technology applications.
