Arthur C. Miller, distinguished professor emeritus of civil and environmental engineering, has taught continuing education courses at Penn State for thirty years and has won numerous teaching awards. Gary Brunner, the program author, is a senior hydraulic engineer at the Hydrologic Engineering Center in Davis, California.

Dennis Johnson, associate professor of environmental science and director of the Technology Solutions Center at Juniata College, has taught a variety of courses ranging from hydrology and hydrodynamics to survey, hydraulic engineering, engineering economy, and wastewater collection systems. He has served as an assistant professor in the departments of civil engineering at Penn State and Michigan Technological University; and as a visiting scientist research hydrologist with the National Weather Service, through the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR).
Together, they bring to the classroom a thorough knowledge of the fundamental theory of open channel hydraulics as well as a practical understanding of its application.
