Educational Facilities Professional (EFP) Credential Program
ERAPPA 2010 Annual Meeting registrants can also sign up to take part in the Educational Facilities Professional (EFP) program for an additional fee. The program includes a one-day prep course (Saturday, October 2), followed by the half-day EFP examination offered through APPA (Sunday, October 3).
The EFP Credential represents the fundamental advantages that a facilities professional can bring to his or her campus and the campus decision-making team. Those who earn this industry standard credential:
- represent core knowledge, talent, skill, accountability, and commitment
- are guided to a holistic, systemic view of operations and development
- become more competitive and desirable to current management and potential employers
- possess an accomplishment that stays throughout their professional and personal journeys
Successful completion of the EFP test provides evidence of familiarity with standards and best practices, ability to perform research-backed stewardship, and knowledge of the facts, ideas, and principles that contribute to creative and sound decisions. The exam for the EFP credential covers APPA’s four core competency areas for facilities professionals:
- general administration and management
- operations and maintenance
- energy and utilities
- planning, design, and construction

Note: Registration for the EFP Prep Course will be taken while you are registering for the annual meeting. Application and registration for the EFP examination must be done through APPA.
