Fee and Registration

This course has been cancelled, effective July 10, 2008.  Please check back for information regarding the 2009 course. 

IMPORTANT: Please read completely, then carefully follow these instructions to avoid unnecessary paperwork and to ensure that your registration is processed correctly.

This course has two credit options:

Fee: The tuition and fees cover all instruction, course notes, lunches on Monday and Friday, a campus parking permit, and program materials. Registrants are responsible for some meals, lodging, and parking. The fee may be paid by check, money order, or purchase order (made payable to Penn State), or a letter of authorization to bill your employer or organization.

  • 2 credits (estimated to be $1,162 for Pennsylvania residents; estimated to be $2,096 for non-Pennsylvania residents)
  • 3 credits (estimated to be $1,743 for Pennsylvania residents; estimated to be $3,144 for non-Pennsylvania residents)

Each participant also needs to pay a $65 class materials fee (covers two lunches, a campus parking permit, and instructional materials), a $53 technology fee, and a $17 activity fee.

To register: You can register by mailing or faxing the printable registration form. See below for important registration information for graduate credit programs.

Tuition: The University reserves the right to revise the schedule of tuition and charges without further notice. For more information on tuition, visit http://tuition.psu.edu/.

Deadline: All registrations must be received by 5:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday, July 15, 2008. After this date, please call the conference planner at 814-863-5100 for information about on-site check-in; if space permits, you may register for an additional $30.

Confirmation: The conference planner will confirm your enrollment and provide additional information. You will be alerted promptly of any cancellations or changes. If some unforeseen event forces Penn State to cancel or postpone the program, you will get a full refund of your registration fee; however, the University cannot be held responsible for any other related costs including cancellation fees assessed by airlines or travel agencies.

Refunds: If your request to withdraw is received at least fifteen business days prior to the first day of the conference, we can issue a partial refund. Send your written request by fax to 814-863-5190 or by e-mail to ConferenceInfo1@outreach.psu.edu. A $50 administrative fee will be charged for each withdrawal. Anyone who is registered but cannot attend may send a substitute.

Important Registration Information for Graduate Credit Programs

Are you currently enrolled as a graduate student?
If no, then go to Step A and then to Step D.
If yes, then go to Step B.

Step A: Complete Penn State's Graduate School Online Application form, found at www.gradsch.psu.edu/prospective/apply.html. You must apply online (electronically) by July 15, 2008. Do NOT use the printable version of the form.

IMPORTANT: To correctly complete this application form, be sure to follow the instructions provided for nondegree applicants. Also, on the Campus/Major/Degree page, be sure to choose "University Park" as the campus, choose "Nondegree Graduate" as the major, choose "None" as the degree, and choose "Summer of 2008" as the semester.

Step B: Are you resuming study after an absence of one or more semesters (not counting a summer session)?
If yes, then go to Step C and then to Step D.
If no, then go to Step D.

Step C: Complete a Resume Study/Change of Degree or Major form before registering for this program. Go to www.gradsch.psu.edu/current/current.html.
