Call for Papers
Submission Information for Presentations on Business Process Improvement in the Extractive Industries
The steering committee is currently seeking paper submissions on the topics listed below. Presentations can range from thirty to forty-five minutes, including five to ten minutes for questions.
The deadline for abstract submissions has been extended to January 30, 2009.
Abstracts should:
- cover one of the topics listed below
- be in the form of a 100-word abstract
- include a presentation title, along with presenter's name, title, and company
- be submitted, preferably as an e-mail attachment, to the program director listed below
- be submitted to the program committee chair, via e-mail, by December 19, 2008 (contact info below)
Topics
Conference presentations will address practical improvements of all parts of mining processing and transportation, from mine to mill to customer, organized into the following topics:
- cost containment
- implementation success stories
- organizational change management i.e. BPI for mergers and acquisitions
- risk management and BPI
- sustainability of process improvement efforts (measuring and monitoring)
- utilization of technology in process improvement
