The participants in this session will examine the issue of conflict and learn a practical six-step process designed to help families, schools, and agencies resolve special education conflicts locally.

Medical disorders, commonly observed in typically developing children, are frequently missed in children with autism spectrum disorders. The need to identify these disorders has important implications for quality of life and the advancement of our understanding of the neurobiology of autism.

This session will review the features of current and effective research-based instruction in reading and their relationship to reading instruction with nonreaders and noncomprehenders with autism spectrum disorders. Limit of 60 participants.
