Location and Accommodations
The program will be held at The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel, one of the largest university-based conference center hotels of its kind in the country. The Penn Stater, part of Penn State's Innovation Park, features newly renovated rooms, extensive meeting facilities, and excellent restaurants.
The reserved blocks of rooms for the 9th National Outreach Scholarship Conference at the Penn Stater and the Nittany Lion Inn have been filled. If you wish, you may ask the Penn Stater Reservations Office to place your name on a waiting list. Phone: 800-233-7505 or 814-863-5000. The staff actively works with this list and will contact people when vacancies occur.

To locate alternate lodging:
Log onto the Central Pennsylvania Convention and Visitors Bureau Web site at http://www.centralpacvb.org/. Once there, select Lodging and Reservations from the pull-down menu under the Visitors tab. You may peruse the list of choices, or you may click the yellow Lodging Availability button at the top of the page and enter your criteria for dates and type of lodging. You will be given a list of lodging locations that have vacancies on the dates you select. You may contact these hotels by phone or connect directly to their Web site to make a reservation.
Travel
By air: The State College/University Park Airport is located near the conference site. Call 814-865-5511 or visit http://www.statecollegeairport.org/ for information on flights.
By car: The University Park campus is located within driving distance of many major cities, including Harrisburg (1.5 hrs., 90 mi.), Pittsburgh (3 hrs., 137 mi.), Philadelphia (3.5
hrs., 194 mi.), Baltimore (3.5 hrs., 155 mi.), Washington, D.C. (4 hrs., 190 mi.), New York City (5 hrs., 250 mi.), and Toronto (6.5 hrs., 304 mi.).

By bus: Trailways and Greyhound Lines connections are available to and from State College. For reservations and information, call Fullington Trailways at 800-322-5591 (or 814-238-1100) or Greyhound at 814-238-7971.
Conference Attire
Casual dress is appropriate for all elements of the conference, including presentations, sessions, meetings, meals, networking functions, and other activities. Early October in central Pennsylvania can be cool in the morning, with mild afternoons and evenings.
Visa Information
International participants arriving from outside the United States, who have machine-readable passports from twenty-seven countries in the Visa Waiver Program, may be able to travel without a visa.
Participants from other countries will need a B-1 (business) visa or
B-2 (tourist) visa.
Note: Obtaining U.S. visas may require a visit to a U.S. consulate or embassy, payment of a fee, and significant wait time. Please contact the local U.S. consulate or embassy for up-to-date information.
Letter of invitation: Individuals requiring an official letter of invitation to attend the 9th National Outreach Scholarship Conference can write to Chriss Schultz at cys2@outreach.psu.edu. This letter may be needed to obtain a visa or permission to attend the conference. Please include your name, professional title, business address, phone number, e-mail address, and fax number. The letter will be provided by fax.
Parking
If you are an overnight guest or a conference participant, you do not need to obtain a parking permit at The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel. If you are staying at The Nittany Lion Inn, you will receive an overnight guest parking pass for the Nittany Parking Deck.
