Experience Common Ground Lobby Talk Workshop presented by Penn State Public BroadcastingWe invite you to attend a Common Ground Lobby Talk and to enter into a televised discussion about an issue of relevance to living in the world today. The group will determine the actual topic. We invite you to stay, after the Lobby Talk itself, and learn about the Public Service Media Initiative, how Lobby Talks are pulled together, and how engagement is at the intersection of public media and higher education. Presenters for the “after session” will include various members from the Public Service Media Study Group—faculty who have moderated the discussions and participated in the working groups, and staff who have worked to make these collaborative productions successful. You must be registered for the conference to participate.9:30–11:30 a.m.
Penn State Energy Initiatives and Green Tour - This session is now full and a waiting list has been started.
Join Penn State's Evan Pugh Professor of Geosciences, Richard Alley, who served on the Nobel Peace Prize-winning United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, for a discussion about climate change science and outreach. Next, tour a student-led green building project and learn about other energy initiatives at Penn State in education, research, and service with colleagues from Penn State's Center for Sustainability and the College of Agricultural Sciences. You must be registered for both the conference and tour to participate. Tour registration is limited. Transportation will begin boarding at 9:20 a.m. at the hotel lobby entrance for a 9:30 a.m. departure and a short ride to the tour and discussion site.
