Nine school school principals from the United Kingdom visited with College of Education faculty members and other Penn State faculty and staff members, as well as local district teachers and students as part of a professional development experience.

The educators are principals of middle and high schools and oversee students who range in age from 11 to 18. Several of the educators operate specialty schools.

The College of Education and Penn State Outreach hosted this international outreach activity for these leaders in teaching and learning, who live outside of Birmingham. It is the second year the college and Outreach have hosted a group of educators from the United Kingdom. The British Council funds these professional development trips.

Other sponsors were Continuing Education’s Conferences and Institutes, Outreach Program Resources and the State College and Altoona school districts. In addition, Penn State Public Broadcasting is producing a short video of the group’s activities at the University.
