75th Water Works Conference held at Penn State
The Water Works Operators’ Association of Pennsylvania has been meeting annually at Penn State for 75 years, making this one of the longest-running conferences at the University. The 2002 annual conference was appropriately titled Diamond Jubilee: 75 Years of Service, Quality and Commitment. Since 1927, the association has organized annual conferences to provide its members with the latest research and developments and regulations in the field. In the left photo, George R. Sweeney Jr., president of the association, welcomed participants and introduced keynote speaker Christine Martin (right photo), deputy secretary for water management with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). She discussed DEP’s water management strategies and priorities. An outreach program of Penn State Continuing Education’s Conferences and Institutes
