Penn State World Campus instructor Chris Miller (standing), research associate with the Center for Logistics Research, meets some of his on-line students face-to-face at the Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC) in Ohio. He visited the Department of Defense site where dozens of military personnel are enrolled in business logistics distance-based programs offered by The Mary Jean and Frank P. Smeal College of Business Administration. Logistics officers are enrolled in the Postbaccalaureate Business Logistics Certificate Program and the undergraduate Business Logistics Certificate Program. While at the Columbus, Ohio, facility, Miller conducted an informal session on current topics in logistics. He said the military values these distance learning courses, because they enable logistics officers to remain at their posts while learning.
