| National town meeting theme is health disparities | ||||||

Community activists, researchers, students and faculty members at Penn State and other locations around the nation gathered for a historic discussion about how racial legacies influence public health. Race, Class and Health, a live, interactive satellite conference was downlinked to University Park campus. Participants joined nationally renowned panelists to examine research, case studies, community action strategies and innovative learning approaches to eliminating health disparities. The Pennsylvania Office of Rural Health in the Department of Health Policy and Administration in the College of Health and Human Development and the Northern Appalachia Leadership Initiative on Cancer in the College of Agricultural Sciences co-sponsored the event.
