National leaders provide counsel for
Penn State World Campus

While meeting with the World Campus Advisory Board, Dr. Graham Spanier, President of Penn State, enthusiastically talks about how the World Campus can extend Penn State courses and degree programs to people worldwide.
  Fourteen senior executives from professional associations, research organizations and corporations are guiding planning for the Penn State World Campus. The World Campus Advisory Board met for the first time in October.

  Launched in January 1998, the World Campus now offers four programs: Chemical Dependency Counselor Education, Fundamentals of Engineering, Noise Control Engineering and Turfgrass Management. Eight more programs will be added during 1999, and by the end of its fifth year, the World Campus will offer 25 to 30 new programs, comprising more than 300 courses.

  The growth and development of the World Campus will be aided by members of the World Campus Advisory Board. Chaired by Dr. James H. Ryan, vice president for Outreach and Cooperative Extension, the board will meet twice a year, and members will serve two-year terms. Board members are:
