Martha Harris, chief executive officer of the Team Pennsylvania Human Resources Investment Council, described how Pennsylvania is building a workforce with the knowledge and skills needed for success during a meeting of key Penn State leaders.
Harris discussed the Human Resources Investment Councils customer-driven approach to workforce programs with associate deans, campus executive officers and other University administrators preparing a follow-up strategic plan to address Pennsylvanias workforce education needs.

Gov. Tom Ridge established the Human Resources Investment Council in 1998. The council is taking more than 100 federal job-training programs and 37 state-administered workforce education programs and aligning and integrating them to ensure our ultimate customers, the taxpayers, get what they deserve for their $600 million investment, Harris said.
