Dr. Susan Welch
Dr. Susan Welch, dean of the College of the Liberal Arts, opened the first in a weeklong series of public lectures by five New York Times reporters and editors who visited the University as part of the program titled The New York Times in Residence: A Week of Outstanding Speakers at Penn State. The College of the Liberal Arts sponsored the program in collaboration with Penn State Outreach and Cooperative Extension. New York Times staff members visited classrooms, teaching and talking with students and faculty members.
Richard L. Berke
Richard L. Berke, New York Times national political correspondent and senior writer, talked about campaign finance and Washington politics and offered advice on journalism careers to students, faculty and staff members during a public lecture at University Park campus.
