Student Scholarships

The Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Bureau of Special Education has announced the availability of student scholarships for the 2013 Pennsylvania Low Incidence Institute.

A limited number of scholarships are available to qualifying attendees of the 2013 Pennsylvania Low Incidence Institute. Please apply early and include complete information for a timely response.

When: August 5–8, 2013
Where: The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel, State College, Pennsylvania
Who: Pennsylvania college and university 2013 graduates or current students majoring in special education, education of the visually impaired or hearing impaired, or related professions
Purpose: To encourage students and recent graduates to pursue a career working with students with low incidence disabilities and to become informed on evidence-based practices and issues in the field
What: Scholarships will cover costs for up to 10 graduates/students to attend the conference, including registration fee, lodging, and meals included on the agenda.
How: Interested students and recent graduates should download the application form. To qualify, you must show evidence that you are a current student or recent (2013) graduate at a Pennsylvania college or university, with a major in special education, education of the visually impaired or hearing impaired, or related professions. A letter of recommendation from a university professor or his or her signature on the form is also required.
