Attention, World Campus Students! Important Changes Starting Summer 2007
The World Campus is undergoing a significant integration with Penn State administrative systems with the goal of simplifying course registration, tuition payment, and advising processes, beginning in the summer semester 2007. As a result, the World Campus' six-month, "ongoing registration" courses will be phased out and replaced with online semester-based courses. Benefits
- You will be able to schedule World Campus courses and check your registration status online via eLion (https://elion.oas.psu.edu/).
- You will be able to schedule your World Campus courses early (based on the number of credits you have earned).
- You will be able to manage your own course drops, adds, and refunds via eLion.
- You will no longer be required to pay your tuition up front, before scheduling courses—and you will now have tuition payment plan options.
- You will be billed electronically for your tuition and fees; you will access your "eBills" by logging into eLion.
- Any financial aid you are eligible for will be calculated and applied directly to your Bursar account at the time your tuition bill is posted online.
- There will be a full-time tuition rate for 12 or more credits.
You Also Need to Know
- All important Penn State instructions and information will be sent only to your psu.edu e-mail account (userid@psu.edu). You will need to monitor that account or have your Penn State e-mail forwarded to your preferred e-mail account.
- World Campus courses must be scheduled prior to the start of each semester and completed by the end of the semester. Most World Campus online semester-based courses will be fifteen weeks long in the fall and spring, and twelve weeks long in the summer.
- Tuition will now be calculated based on the number of credits you have earned. For the summer 2007 semester, courses numbered 001–299 will increase to $404 per credit for lower-division undergraduate students (students who have earned fewer than 59.1 credits) and $430 per credit for upper-division undergraduate students (students who have earned 59.1 or more credits).
