Library Resource Tools: The "Get It!" Button
When you are searching in databases on the University Libraries Web site, look for the blue "Get it!" button--a tool that saves time in finding the full text of journal articles.
In article databases (e.g., PsychInfo, ERIC, ProQuest), once you find an article that interests you, click on the "Get it!" button to bring up a menu of choices that:
• provides direct links from a citation in a database to the full text of an article online (as available);
• provides a link to search the CAT (Penn State's online library catalog) to see whether Penn State owns other formats of the publication;
• allows users to request an item via the Interlibrary Loan system (ILLiad), if the print or electronic version is not available.
If you have an article citation or journal title, you can determine whether Penn State owns the online version--and connect to it--by using the "Citation Linker" tool available on the "Articles and More" Web page: http://www.libraries.psu.edu/articles.html
If you use a bibliographic software package such as EndNote, the "Get it!" button also gives you a convenient option to save the article information in your preferred citation format.
