Welcome--Kim Breon and John Mills

Join us in welcoming Kim Breon and John Mills, the newest members of our academic advising team!

Kim recently joined us as the new advising assistant for Continuing Education, where she will be advising returning adult learners who want to study through Continuing Education at Penn State's University Park campus or at the University's continuing education centers in Lewistown and Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Kim came to us from Penn State's First-Year Testing, Counseling, and Advising Program (FTCAP). Her experience in working with students new to Penn State, as well as her being a Penn State graduate, will prove useful in helping adult learners who may feel nervous about the prospect of returning to the classroom.

In her spare time Kim enjoys baking and cooking, reading, playing sports, and spending time with her two cats.

John has come on board to advise our online military students located around the world. A military veteran himself, John was previously an academic adviser with Student Support Services at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota, where he worked with first-generation and low-income students and with students living with disabilities.

In 2002 John relocated to Penn State to pursue a doctorate in educational leadership. He is currently working on his dissertation in the evenings and on weekends. To relax, he enjoys watching baseball, football, and basketball, and fly-fishing the rivers of central Pennsylvania.
